Protection against mechanical risks and cutting

NF F 31 118

The aim of this standard is to analyse the material’s behaviour when vandalised (in this case, lacerated).

Laceration test:

This involves measuring our nonwovens’ capacity to resist puncture or laceration with a force of 150 N.

3 criteria must be satisfied simultaneously:

- Puncture or cut must be 20 mm or less.

- The edges of the cut, on the patterned side, must not gape (gap must not exceed 0.5 mm).

- Following the test, no dangerous elements may appear outside the covering.
